The Brief
When an advertising agency came to us asking for help with their Santa Monica office, we jumped at the chance to work together. They had several closets and one big hallway with no real infrastructure. So, we started from scratch and designed systems to contain their branded merch, office supplies, shipping supplies, production equipment, and other office essentials.
Office Organization:
Strategized optimal layout and flow for all office storage categories
Created a packing and shipping station that is easy to use and maintain
All items were clearly grouped and labeled to make the organization easy to upkeep, even in a 50+ person office
Custom Storage Solutions:
Designed and implemented custom ELFA storage shelves
Installed colorful Mustard Made lockers in an underutilized hallway
Maximized square footage by mounting ladders and cleaning supplies on the wall
Before
Drawing Board
Because we were organizing a space that would be used by lots of people every day, we took special care to make sure every solution was as user-friendly as possible. Enter the open front bin! Instead of having to take a bin down and remove a lid every time an employee wants something, they just need to reach in to get what they need.
An underutilized hallway (that was easily visible from many of the desks in the open plan office) needed storage, but of the aesthetically pleasing variety. We suggested these cute & sturdy Mustard Made lockers to hold office supplies, and they worked beautifully.
We knew that wall-mounted shelving would be perfect for the company’s large branded merch collection. We designed several walls of ELFA shelving and then oversaw their install.
After
After several days of sorting, grouping, purging, building and installing, the new systems were in! Each closet had its own purpose and function to make use and maintenance as simple as possible. The office manager was trained in all of the systems, and we implemented team feedback throughout the process. The final product is a streamlined, visually tidy setup that will save the company time and resources moving forward.
