CASE STUDY 07
West Hollywood Record Room

The Brief
Comedy writer, actress & producer Jenny Jaffe and her husband Dan Arrigo came to us perplexed. They had no idea what to do with an awkward wine storage space situated under their stairs. As avid music lovers, we decided to transform it into a record room. Once a totally underutilized space, it’s now their favorite room in the house.
Interior Design:
Re-envisioned how the wine closet could be used in a functional and aesthetically pleasing way
Picked the paint, furniture, and decor for the space
Oversaw the transformation of the room
Organization:
Decluttered and relocated the games that were in the space before the renovation
Organized the couple’s records into the space
Reinventing a wine room
Our original intention was just to make the under-stairs space look better. But once we dug into the design we realized it could be functional and cool at the same time. Below, you can see what it looked like before, and to the right is our original vibe board for the design.
A playful entrance
We decided to go with a cozy 70’s vibe and picked a warm green paint color from Backdrop. Since the room doesn’t get any natural light, we found the best faux plants on the market and incorporated Jenny & Dan’s extensive vinyl collection and artwork. We also set up their record player, and our handyman wired it to play throughout the entire home. Lastly, Julianna threw in a handmade cross stitch piece as the finishing touch in the space.
“Cannot recommend highly enough! Space Camp not only transformed an our unused wine closet into a gorgeous record room, they helped us organize everything from our garage to our bathrooms! As if that weren't enough, they're also extremely kind and thoughtful in addition to being talented at what they do!”
